My Story

From a remote village, Fortune 500s.

Where I came from

Chapter 01

Where I came from.

I grew up in a remote village in India where “computer” was an unknown word. I got introduced to computers when I was just 14 years old. I had a passion for computers. I used to modify them, fix them up myself. I just loved it. I spent 6 years of my life in a boarding school and I left school even before completing my education.

I still remember nobody used to like me in my teenage years. Most of them predicted my future and marked me as a failure. But I never doubted myself. One day I got insulted, I didn't sleep the whole night and I cried in the morning. The next day, I looked into the mirror and said to myself that one day I am gonna change everything. I will make each of them realise that I am not just anyone. I will create my value, detach myself from everyone and build my own circle.

Learning the craft

Chapter 02

Learning the craft.

I spent several months with my computer learning how to write JavaScriptcode. JavaScript was very popular back then. I started with hacking other people's mobile phones using JS and Python and honed my skills. I left the village and went to New Delhi to pursue further education from an institute about computer science.

I used to sleep in a cubicle room on the ground with my laptop. Those cold days are still there in my memory. I spent a couple more months building skills.

I applied to hundreds of internships but got rejected. It put oil to the fire of my anger.

Three years, twenty-two countries

Chapter 03

Three years, twenty-two countries.

After months of hard work, I finally got a remote internship and from there I kept learning algorithms and enrolled for the Microsoft Learner Program. After it completed, I got an opportunity to work there. I finally got inside after all that hard work. I left after a couple of days and then started working independently. AI was not even a word at that time. I picked up multiple projects and worked for some small and big companies.

I moved to Germany in 2022 and built a lot of connections in Berlin. I started working independently and got the chance to work for some Fortune 500 companies like Heineken and Airbnb, and mid-level companies like Conduktor and Hyperspect AI. At the same time I was travelling around the world with my backpack. I was carrying my office and my home with me everywhere. I was building connections in different countries and started organising tech events as a volunteer. I travelled to around 22 countries from 2022 to 2025. One thing I loved about my job was getting access to the world. Everybody used to tell me I was lucky, and in fact I really was. I have seen some of the best evenings and sunrises of my life.

Finding AI

Chapter 04

Finding AI.

I got introduced to AI for the first time when I was hired for product research of an AI product. GPT-3 was freshly released at that time but was not accessible to everyone. I worked with AI researchers and shared my software engineering expertise with them in exchange for learning this new tech. I was quickly able to understand what was coming in the industry. It was the tech of the future so I expanded my skills in ML and AI and learned a lot. From there I joined Hyperspect AI as CTO, built the entire end-to-end product as a founding engineer and later turned CTO. I led the team and built the end-to-end product. The product was way ahead of its time and AI was not as developed as it is today, so the product failed.

Stepping up

Chapter 05

Stepping up.

I then started Octify Technologies. It was a one-person company and the idea from the very beginning was not to build another IT services company. It was to build a team of the best AI engineers because AI was the future tech. At that time AI engineers were not very popular as IT services was dominating.

I worked with hundreds of founders, small businesses, big enterprises and got a grasp over the game. I realised that enterprises were not very smart, and small businesses or startups were not able to access the right resources. The AI wave hit hard and I saw that now everybody, even guys who were salesmen, are writing code and selling “AI services” without even knowing the backbone of it or what the technology actually is.

I conducted research on Small and Medium Business AI maturity and published papers on it. During my research I realised that the next powerful industry is not enterprises, it's small and mid-sized businesses. But a lot of businesses are getting fooled by fake “AI experts” and I realised it was time to step up and give every small business the AI capability they deserve.
